International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH), renowned for its research-led education programs, is set to introduce an Online Master of Science in Information Technology (eMSIT) on Coursera, a leading online learning platform. This initiative marks the first master’s degree program from an Indian university offered on Coursera, reflecting IIITH’s commitment to expanding access to high-quality education.
Integration of Industry Micro-Credentials
The eMSIT program integrates and acknowledges industry micro-credentials, providing students with pathways to advance their learning journey based on prior experience. This innovative approach aligns with the university’s ethos of fostering interdisciplinary learning and adapting to evolving industry demands.
Cutting-Edge Curriculum and Support
The curriculum of eMSIT includes hands-on projects, specialized tracks in data science, full stack development, and machine learning, exposing students to AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot. Moreover, students will benefit from the guidance of experienced teaching assistants and periodic sessions conducted by industry professionals, enhancing their practical skills and industry readiness.
Addressing Industry Demands
With the Indian IT industry projected to demand around 95 lakh tech professionals by 2026, graduates of the eMSIT program will be well-prepared for lucrative career opportunities in sectors like finance, healthcare, and software development. Additionally, students will gain access to online job boards and networking opportunities with MSIT’s extensive alumni network, facilitating connections with leading tech companies worldwide.
Accessible Learning Pathways

Applicants need a four-year undergraduate (UG) degree with a STEM background or equivalent qualifications, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in tech education.
