Reliance Jio has launched its first-ever Virtual Reality (VR) headset, the JioDive, which allows users to watch Indian Premier League (IPL) matches with a 360-degree view on a virtual 100-inch screen. Priced at Rs 1,299, the VR headset can be purchased in black from JioMart and comes with a 3-month warranty along with an offer of Rs 500 cashback from Paytm Wallet.
Compatible with Android and iOS devices, the JioDive VR headset uses the smartphone’s gyroscope and accelerometer and requires the installation of the JioImmerse app. The device has adjustable lenses with center and side wheels, allowing users to optimize the image for sharper visuals and optical comfort.
Featuring a click button for interface navigation, the device has a three-way adjustable strap and breathable face cushion for comfortable extended usage.
The JioDive VR headset works by positioning two lenses in front of the user’s smartphone screen, creating a 3D view for a more immersive experience. The device uses the phone’s gyroscope and accelerometer sensors to track the user’s movements and adjust the displayed image or video accordingly.
To start using the JioDive VR headset, users must first scan the QR code on the headset’s box and download the JioImmerse app. They need to connect to a Jio network and log in to the app, select JioDive, and choose the “Watch on JioDive” option. After opening the front cover of the headset, users can position their phone between the support clip and lenses, adjust the straps and picture quality, and begin using the device.
In addition to watching IPL matches on a big screen, users can also use JioDive to enjoy virtual reality content and play games on a large virtual screen. However, it is important to note that users must be connected to a Jio 4G, 5G, or JioFiber network to use the JioImmerse app and access JioDive’s features.
