Media Reports Indicate OpenAI, the Owner of ChatGPT, has Been Working on the “Athena” Chip Since 2019, with Microsoft and OpenAI Employees Conducting Testing.
The AI chips developed by Microsoft and OpenAI are designed to support training of large-language models and enable efficient inference, critical for generative AI applications like ChatGPT that require processing massive data, pattern recognition, and human-like conversation generation.
