Ericsson Completes Transfer of IoT Accelerator and Connected Vehicle Cloud Businesses to Aeris, Gains Minor Share

Ericsson has announced the successful transfer of its IoT Accelerator and Connected Vehicle Cloud businesses, along with their related assets, to Aeris. As part of the agreement, Ericsson also received a minor share in Aeris. Aeris will integrate the businesses into its existing IoT offerings to establish a new and comprehensive IoT solution. Through this transfer, Ericsson has created a leader in the fragmented IoT market.

One of Aeris’ new global partners, Bridge Alliance, has expressed excitement about working with Aeris and leveraging its extended IoT portfolio and industry offerings to provide value-added services to enterprise customers through alliance members.

In December 2022, Ericsson and Aeris Communications signed an agreement to transfer Ericsson’s IoT Accelerator and Connected Vehicle Cloud businesses. San Jose-based Aeris is a top provider of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. Ericsson’s IoT Accelerator is currently used by more than 9,000 enterprises to manage over 95 million connected devices and 22 million eSIM connections globally. Moreover, the IoT platforms of Aeris and Ericsson will connect more than 100 million IoT devices worldwide, spanning across 190 countries. Recently, Ericsson confirmed the finalization of the transfer and also obtained a minor share in Aeris as part of the deal.
