Indus Towers Limited has appointed Venkatesh Tiwari as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective April 1, 2026. The appointment is part of the company’s senior management restructuring and aligns with its planned leadership transition strategy.
Successor to Tejinder Singh Kalra
Venkatesh Tiwari will succeed Tejinder Singh Kalra, who is set to retire on August 31, 2026, following a long and distinguished tenure with the company. The transition ensures continuity in leadership while positioning the company for its next growth phase.
Brings Nearly Three Decades of Industry Experience
With close to 28 years of experience, Tiwari brings extensive expertise across sectors including e-commerce, telecommunications, consumer electronics, and logistics. His career spans leadership roles focused on business transformation, P&L management, and customer-centric operations, making him well-suited to lead operational strategy at Indus Towers.
Leadership Experience at Amazon
Before joining Indus Towers, Tiwari was associated with Amazon, where he held key leadership positions across multiple verticals. He played a significant role in overseeing Amazon Now, Seller Fulfilment, and third-party logistics (3PL) operations.
His contributions include launching quick commerce services in India and scaling ultra-fast delivery ecosystems, including grocery delivery, same-day delivery, and logistics networks. He was also instrumental in expanding delivery coverage across all serviceable pin codes in India.
Experience Across Leading Companies
Prior to Amazon, Tiwari held leadership roles at major organizations including Samsung, Bharti Airtel, and Perfetti Van Melle. His experience spans operations, customer service, and sales and marketing, giving him a well-rounded perspective on large-scale business operations.
Academic Background
Tiwari holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications from the Birla Institute of Technology Mesra and an MBA in Marketing and International Business from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.

The appointment reflects Indus Towers’ focus on enhancing leadership capabilities and driving operational efficiency. As the company continues to scale its telecom infrastructure business, Tiwari’s experience is expected to play a key role in shaping its operational strategy and supporting future growth initiatives.
