Taboola has announced a partnership with Motorola to bring its DeeperDive answer engine directly to select moto g smartphones. The integration will allow users to access the AI-powered platform from their smartphone lock screens, making it easier to ask questions, explore topics and discover content from publishers.
The partnership marks the first time a smartphone manufacturer will integrate DeeperDive directly into its lock screen experience, according to Taboola.
DeeperDive Uses Generative AI and Publisher Content
Taboola’s DeeperDive uses generative AI alongside content from publishers to provide answers to user queries. It also recommends related stories and additional information to help users explore topics in greater detail.
Users will be able to ask questions about subjects such as sports, entertainment, finance, travel and politics. The platform will provide answers informed by publisher content, along with relevant stories and follow-up topics.
The service aims to help users move beyond basic search queries and discover additional context around subjects they are interested in.
DeeperDive Rollout Planned Across Multiple Markets
The DeeperDive integration is expected to roll out in phases across select Motorola moto g devices throughout 2026 and 2027.
The initial rollout will cover markets including the UK, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico and Argentina. Taboola and Motorola have not specified the exact smartphone models or market-wise launch dates.
Taboola and Motorola Extend Existing Partnership
The latest announcement builds on the existing relationship between Taboola and Motorola, which already includes personalised content recommendations on select moto g smartphones in certain markets.
Taboola has also expanded DeeperDive through partnerships with publishers. Since 2025, media organisations including USA TODAY Co., HuffPost UK, BuzzFeed Asia and Bangkok Post have integrated the answer engine into their digital platforms.
AI-Powered Content Discovery Comes to Smartphone Lock Screens
With the DeeperDive integration, Taboola and Motorola aim to make AI-powered information discovery more accessible through the smartphone lock screen.
The experience will combine conversational AI with publisher content, allowing users to explore questions and discover related stories without first opening a separate search or news application. The phased rollout will determine how the feature reaches eligible moto g users across the announced markets.
Leadership Comment
“Motorola continues to innovate the ways consumers interact with their devices and discover the content that matters to them,” said Adam Singolda, CEO of Taboola. “DeeperDive creates a new way for people to explore their interests and get useful answers informed by trusted publisher content. We’re proud to expand our relationship with Motorola and bring this experience directly to consumers on their smartphones.”
