(VIAVI) (NASDAQ: VIAV) has unveiled an upgraded version of its Observer Sentry Software-as-a-Service-based threat exposure management solution, now equipped with traffic analysis capabilities. This enhancement enables SecOps, DevOps, and cloud architects to not only identify potential vulnerabilities but also determine if they have been exploited.
Observer Sentry’s traffic analysis feature conducts audits of security groups, access control lists, firewall rules, and other configuration sources across all AWS accounts. By pinpointing misconfigurations and overly permissive settings, it helps identify and mitigate unwanted exposures effectively. Furthermore, integration with vulnerability scanners allows for the automatic prioritization of critical vulnerabilities, streamlining the remediation process.
The integration of traffic analysis elevates Observer Sentry’s exposure and vulnerability analysis by providing insights into actual events, comparing them with the configurations permitted. Additionally, integration with VIAVI Observer Apex performance monitoring solution facilitates forensic-level traffic analysis in the event of a compromised resource or an exploited vulnerability.
