Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio) continues to strengthen its dominance in the telecom market, solidifying its leadership position in Rajasthan. According to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Jio added a remarkable 2.73 lakh new wireless subscribers in the state during December 2023.
Market Dynamics – Rajasthan Circle
During the same period, Bharti Airtel and BSNL saw additions of 1.11 lakh and 21,000 subscribers, respectively. Conversely, Vodafone Idea experienced a loss of 1.24 lakh existing subscribers in Rajasthan. This trend underscores Jio’s significant lead over its competitors in terms of subscriber acquisition.
Jio’s Impressive Growth
Jio’s subscriber base in Rajasthan reached an impressive 2.62 crores by December 31, 2023, demonstrating the company’s rapid ascent in the region within a relatively short span of less than eight years. This milestone firmly establishes Jio as the telecom provider of choice for consumers in Rajasthan.
Additionally, Jio Air Fiber services have been successfully deployed in 43 cities across Rajasthan, serving over 20,000 customers.
Competitive Landscape
In comparison, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and BSNL reported subscriber bases of 2.30 crores, 1.10 crores, and 56.60 lacs, respectively, during the same period. Despite efforts from its competitors, Jio’s robust growth trajectory highlights its unparalleled market presence and consumer appeal.
Overall Telecom Landscape
The total telecom subscriber count in Rajasthan stood at 6.60 crores as of December 31, 2023. Jio’s significant contribution to this figure underscores its pivotal role in shaping the telecom landscape in the state.
