HARMAN International has unveiled Sing Drive Platform, a new AI-powered in-vehicle entertainment platform designed to transform car journeys into interactive musical experiences. Developed as an automotive-grade karaoke and sing-along solution, the platform aims to make in-cabin entertainment more social, immersive, and engaging.
The launch reflects growing interest among automakers in creating connected and experience-driven cabin environments that go beyond traditional music playback and infotainment systems.
AI Vocal Removal Enables Real-Time Karaoke
Sing Drive uses low-latency AI technology capable of separating vocals from songs in real time, allowing passengers to sing along to tracks streamed from music platforms or personal media libraries. Unlike conventional karaoke systems that depend on pre-licensed song catalogs, the platform is designed to work with a broader range of music sources, enabling more flexible and personalized entertainment experiences.
The system integrates directly with vehicle infotainment and audio infrastructure, eliminating the need for external devices or smartphone mirroring.
Designed for Shared Passenger Experiences
HARMAN says the platform is built to support solo performances, duets, and group participation, turning vehicles into social entertainment spaces during road trips and daily commutes. The experience can be accessed through integrated in-cabin microphones, with support for handheld microphones expected in future implementations.
The company positions Sing Drive as a shift from passive music listening toward more interactive and emotionally engaging entertainment experiences inside the vehicle.
Premium Audio Processing and Driver-Aware Features
The platform combines HARMAN’s proprietary digital signal processing technologies with advanced audio engineering features such as echo cancellation and noise suppression to ensure clear and balanced vocal performance within the cabin.
Sing Drive has also been developed with driver safety considerations in mind. The platform supports hands-free interactions and adaptive display modes intended to minimize distractions while allowing passengers to fully participate in karaoke sessions.
Flexible Platform for Automakers
HARMAN says Sing Drive has been designed as a scalable platform that can be customized by automakers across different vehicle categories and trim levels. OEMs can implement lighter sing-along features or full-featured karaoke experiences with synchronized lyrics and advanced AI capabilities while maintaining a common technology foundation.
The company believes the platform can help automakers differentiate their in-cabin entertainment offerings while aligning with long-term software-driven vehicle strategies and evolving consumer expectations around connected mobility experiences.
