Airtel’s 5G services now available on Kochi Water Metro route

Airtel, an Indian telecommunications company, has extended its 5G services to cover the water metro stations in Kochi. This milestone makes Airtel the first provider to offer 5G connectivity to passengers traveling on India’s inaugural water metro service. The 5G service is accessible to customers along the route of the Kerala Water Metro, which links ten islands around Kochi via battery-operated electric hybrid boats.

Airtel’s 5G service is already operational in all other parts of Kochi and is presently available in more than 3,500 cities and towns across India. The company has surpassed the significant milestone of serving over 10 million unique customers on its nationwide 5G network. Airtel aims to further expand its coverage to include every town and key rural area with 5G service by September 2023. This expansion underlines Airtel’s dedication to providing cutting-edge connectivity solutions and bringing the advantages of 5G technology to a broader range of locations in India.
