American Express Partners with Magic Bus India Foundation to Boost Youth Employability and Digital Skills

American Express in India has partnered with Magic Bus India Foundation to equip young people with employability and digital skills, supporting their transition into sustainable careers in an increasingly technology-driven economy.

Launched in FY 2024–25 as a three-year initiative, the partnership aims to empower nearly 3,000 youth across Bengaluru and Delhi NCR with industry-aligned technical training and essential life skills. The program focuses on bridging the skills gap by combining digital education with structured employability development.

Industry-Relevant Technical Training with Life Skills Integration

Participants receive job-readiness training in high-demand technology domains including Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and IT Fundamentals. Alongside technical capabilities, the curriculum emphasizes transferable life skills such as communication, adaptability, problem-solving, collaboration, and decision-making.

The program also integrates digital and financial literacy, preparing participants not only for entry-level roles but for long-term professional growth in service-oriented and customer-centric industries.

Early Outcomes Show Strong Placement and Retention

In its first year, the initiative has delivered encouraging outcomes, including high training completion rates, job placements, and sustained employment retention. Structured mentorship, sector-specific orientation, and interview preparation modules are embedded within the framework to ensure smoother transitions into the workforce.

Post-placement support plays a critical role in the model, offering continued guidance to help participants stabilize in their roles and advance professionally.

Transformative Impact at the Individual Level

One participant, a Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering graduate, joined the program seeking practical exposure and improved workplace readiness. Through the Tech Fundamentals and Employability Skilling Program supported by American Express, she gained hands-on knowledge in emerging technologies such as Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence while strengthening professional skills including teamwork and communication. She now works as an Associate Data Engineer at an IT firm, underscoring the initiative’s real-world impact.

Strengthening India’s Digital Workforce

As India accelerates toward a digital-first economy, corporate–nonprofit collaborations like this reflect a growing emphasis on workforce readiness and inclusive growth. By combining technical upskilling with life skills and structured placement pathways, American Express and Magic Bus India Foundation aim to create sustainable employment opportunities and enhance youth participation in the digital economy.
