One97 Communications, has made a strategic move to ensure the uninterrupted operation of its services by shifting its nodal account to Axis Bank. This decision comes in response to a directive from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which instructed Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) to halt transactions after February 29, 2024. The central bank later extended the deadline to March 15, 2024, taking into consideration the interests of both customers and merchants.
The transition of Paytm’s nodal account to Axis Bank will enable the continued functionality of essential features such as QR codes, Soundbox, and Card Machines beyond the March deadline. In an exchange filing, One97 Communications confirmed this strategic move, ensuring that merchants utilizing Paytm’s solutions can seamlessly carry out transactions without any disruptions.
Following the RBI’s directive and the subsequent clarification provided through FAQs regarding Paytm services, the company has reassured its merchants of uninterrupted operations post the March deadline. A Paytm spokesperson emphasized that merchants need not worry about any disruptions or adjustments on their part, as they can continue to utilize Paytm’s solutions seamlessly.
