Third-party verification of an ecolabel is a significant milestone, reinforcing the credibility and trustworthiness of the company’s environmental claims. This prestigious third-party certification positions STL’s sustainability endeavors at the forefront of environmental leadership, designating its gold-rated products as “Sustainable and Green.” This accomplishment underscores STL’s commitment to genuine sustainable practices in an era where concerns about greenwashing are increasingly prevalent.
The Ecolabels granted to STL’s products adhere to ISO 14024 and EU guidelines, encompassing multiple environmental parameters, including energy use, chemical use, recycling, and more. Following a rigorous, multi-attribute evaluation, STL’s products demonstrated exceptional performance.
When compared to standard products, these Eco-labelled products:
- Consume approximately 52% less energy
- Emit around 75% less global warming potential
- Incorporate approximately 18% more recycled content and about 25% more recycled packaging material and water
- Recycle and recover roughly 20% more waste
- Extend the network’s lifespan by nearly 13 years
This announcement follows a series of groundbreaking sustainability initiatives by the company, including Zero-Waste to Landfill, Zero Liquid Discharge certifications, and the recent adoption of the Science-based Targets initiative (SBTi).
