In just one year since the launch of Airtel 5G Plus, Bharti Airtel, a prominent telecommunications service provider in India, has made an impressive announcement. Today, they reported a remarkable achievement, with over 1.7 million unique 5G customers in the state of Kerala. What’s even more astonishing is that Airtel’s 5G Plus service is now accessible across all districts in Kerala within a mere 12 months of its initial launch.
Airtel’s 5G services have expanded to cover every district and union territory in the nation. The company has made substantial efforts to ensure that its services are accessible throughout all districts in Kerala. Whether you find yourself in the serene coastal village of Mararikulam in Alappuzha, the tea gardens of Munnar, the pristine beaches of Kovalam, or the culturally rich Fort Kochi, Airtel’s 5G network continues to grow rapidly. What’s more, they have even brought digital connectivity to the recently launched Water metro stations in Kochi and the iconic Bolgatty Island.
Amit Gupta, the Chief Operating Officer for Kerala at Bharti Airtel, shared his thoughts on this milestone, stating, “We were the first telco to deploy high-speed 5G technology in the state, and today we are delighted to be playing an important role in connecting lives of our customers. We thank all our 1.7 million customers for embracing the Airtel 5G Plus network. We continue to set the industry pace with unparalleled growth in 5G customers, prioritizing cutting-edge 5G technology and customer satisfaction. Our 5G landscape has the state’s widest, quickest, and most dependable network, encompassing all 14 districts.”
Over the past year, Airtel has been a trailblazer in 5G innovation, showcasing the transformative potential of 5G through a range of compelling use cases that have revolutionized how people live and conduct business. These accomplishments include establishing India’s first private 5G network at the BOSCH facility in Bengaluru and partnering with Mahindra & Mahindra to convert its Chakan manufacturing unit into India’s first 5G-enabled auto manufacturing facility. Airtel’s recent launch of Airtel Xstream Air Fiber, the first wireless home Wi-Fi service in India powered by Airtel 5G Plus, in Delhi and Mumbai, underscores their remarkable 5G capabilities, providing consumers with a glimpse of the technological future.
