PhonePe has collaborated with the renowned Indian actor, Amitabh Bachchan, to introduce an innovative celebrity voice feature for its SmartSpeakers. This unique functionality enables PhonePe SmartSpeakers across India to utilize Mr. Bachchan’s distinctive voice for confirming customer payments. Initially available in Hindi and English, the celebrity voice feature will be extended to other languages in the future.
PhonePe introduced SmartSpeakers a year ago, and they are now actively used by merchant partners in over 19,000 postal codes, covering more than 90% of the country. These SmartSpeakers have facilitated a remarkable 100 crore transactions across India, highlighting their widespread adoption.
The inclusion of a celebrity voice, particularly that of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, aims to enhance the payment experience for both merchants and customers. To activate this feature, merchants can follow these simple steps within the PhonePe for Business app:
- Open the PhonePe for Business App.
- Locate the SmartSpeaker section on the home screen.
- Under ‘My SmartSpeaker,’ select ‘SmartSpeaker Voice.’
- Choose Mr. Amitabh Bachchan’s voice in your preferred language.
- Confirm your selection to activate the voice feature.
- Your device will reboot with the updated language in Mr. Bachchan’s voice within a few hours.
This collaboration adds a unique and engaging dimension to the payment process, setting the stage for a more interactive experience for users across India.
