Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its much-anticipated foldable device, the MIX Fold 3, in August. The phone recently received MIIT certification, joining the competitive foldable phone market alongside Samsung, Honor, OnePlus, and OPPO.
The MIIT certification image on Twitter confirmed the device’s license number (00-B324-238711) and model number (2308CPXD0C). The MIX Fold 3 is classified as a 5G digital mobile phone, supporting various network connections, including 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G, with eMBB technology support. It is expected to have Dual SIM dual standby and 5G network roaming capabilities.
Rumored specifications of the MIX Fold 3 include an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship processor and 67W fast charging. It might become the first Xiaomi foldable phone to support wireless charging, potentially offering 50W capability. The phone is rumored to come with a 4,800mAh battery.
The MIX Fold 3 is speculated to feature a white curved glass body, a rear quad camera setup with a 3.2X portrait lens and a 5X periscope lens. It is also expected to include a new waterdrop hinge to improve drop resistance while maintaining a thin and lightweight profile. The phone is rumored to have four Leica Optics cameras, as announced by Xiaomi Group CEO, Lu Weibing.
Moreover, the MIX Fold 3 is anticipated to be thinner, lighter, and more durable than its predecessor, the MIX Fold 2. It will be manufactured in Xiaomi’s intelligent factory in Beijing’s Yizhuang, utilizing intelligent manufacturing systems to enhance production precision and reliability.
