Netflix, the renowned streaming platform, is introducing a new feature called “My Netflix” in its mobile apps, aimed at improving content discovery for its users. This addition comes shortly after Netflix’s global crackdown on password-sharing, including measures taken in India last week.
The My Netflix tab will take the place of the current “Downloads” tab, situated in the bottom-right corner of the screen. The primary objective of this new feature is to present users with titles they have shown interest in, assisting them in making informed decisions on what to watch.
The My Netflix tab will showcase various categories of content, including titles that users have downloaded, recently watched, are currently in progress, saved to their “My List,” and have given a thumbs-up to.
Additionally, the feature will display trailers of shows and movies that users have previously viewed. However, users will still have the freedom to explore the platform’s full range of series and films by visiting the Home tab and other sections of the app.
Personalized Content Recommendations Netflix emphasizes that the more users interact with the platform and provide feedback on their preferences, such as saving action-thrillers like “Extraction 2” to “My List” or liking every season of “Bridgerton,” the more personalized content they will discover within the My Netflix tab.
Availability
As of today, the My Netflix feature is available on iOS devices. Android users can expect its rollout in early August.
