Yotta D1 – in Greater Noida, North India’s First Hyperscale Data Centre is launched by Yotta

Digital transformation service company Yotta Infrastructure had a grand opening ceremony for its first hyperscale data centre, Yotta D1, in Greater Noida, India. Yogi Adityanath, the honourable chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, & Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the honourable minister of state for electronics and information technology and skill development and entrepreneurship, officially opened Yotta D1 in the presence of prominent industry leaders & government officials.

With an initial expenditure of roughly Rs. 1,500 crores, the first of six planned data centre buildings in the Greater Noida data centre park, Yotta D1, was constructed and brought online in just 20 months. After Yotta D1 is up and running, an additional Rs. 5,000 cr. will be spent on IT hardware.

The Yotta Greater Noida Data Center Park includes the Yotta D1 data centre, which boasts a prime location near the region’s major economic nodes and is expected to boost the digital economy of India’s National Capital Area. The data center has an IT load capacity of 28.8 MW and occupies 300,000 square feet (G+7 floors). With a maximum of 5000 racks as well as a 48-hour power backup at full load, Yotta D1 is the largest data center in the world.

The Yotta Greater Noida Data Center Park spans 20 acres and features 30,000 racks, 4 specialized fiber routes, and 160 MW of IT power. During the launch event, the foundation stones for the subsequent two data center buildings, Yotta D2 and D3, were also laid.

Yotta also signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Uttar Pradesh at the time of the launch, agreeing to spend a total of Rs. 39,000 crores in the state over the course of five to seven years. This funding will be used by Yotta and its clients to build the data center campus and buy IT equipment as well as other gear.

Shri Arvind Kumar, IAS, IIDC and ACS, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Smt. Ritu Maheshwari, IAS, CEO, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority; and Shri Akshay Tripathi, IAS, MD – UP Electronics Corporation Limited signed the MoU. (UPLC).

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanathji, said in the launch, “I am delighted that North India’s first hyperscale data center – YOTTA D1 – was launched in Uttar Pradesh, the country’s most populous state, which is also fast becoming a hub for data centers. I also congratulate YOTTA on the commitment to invest Rs. 39,000 crore with the U.P government. It is heartening to see an Indian company invest in the cutting-edge data center industry and further the Hon. Prime Minister’s Digital India vision. With YOTTA’s D1 launch, we are one step closer to bridging the gap in data consumption and data services in India, and I assure the YOTTA team that the U.P government will provide all possible support required in the building and operationalisation of the next two buildings – D2 and D3 – in the YOTTA Data Center park.”
