According to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp news tracker, the popular messaging platform is developing a new feature to ensure that important messages are not lost in conversation. The feature will allow users to pin messages in both individual and group chats, ensuring that crucial information stays at the top of the chat for easy access.
As shown in the image, messages can be pinned to the top of a chat. However, if someone is using an outdated version of WhatsApp, a message saying “Some used pinned messages in this chat. Upgrade to the latest version of WhatsApp to see and use pinned messages too.” will be displayed instead. To read the actual pinned message, the user must update to the latest version of WhatsApp, as noted by WABetaInfo.
The ability to pin messages will be particularly useful in official WhatsApp groups where messages are abundant and it can be challenging to keep track of specific texts. This feature is expected to be introduced in a future update of the app.
