A report states that WhatsApp has introduced voice status updates for Android users, with a maximum duration of 30 seconds per voice note. Users will need to update their WhatsApp version to listen to these voice status updates.
According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp updates, WhatsApp is now rolling out the ability to record and share voice notes through status. This feature was first reported by WABetaInfo last year when they said that WhatsApp was developing this capability.
According to the report, these voice notes will be end-to-end encrypted, which means that only those people selected by the user in the privacy settings will be able to listen to the recordings. This feature is only available to a select group of beta testers.
WhatsApp Status allows you to share text, photo, video and GIF updates that disappear 24 hours after they have been sent. In order to use this feature, both the sender and receiver must have each other’s phone numbers saved in the address book of their respective device.
