WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called “Kept Messages,”

WhatsApp is known for regularly updating its features to enhance the user experience, and now the app is rolling out a new feature called “Kept Messages.” This feature, according to a report by WABetaInfo, can be particularly useful if users wish to keep certain messages from disappearing and want them to remain visible to everyone in a group chat.

If a user chooses to keep a disappearing message, it will no longer disappear from the chat even after it expires. However, it’s important to note that all group members will be able to control these messages, and they can be deleted by anyone at any time. The ‘Kept Messages’ section can come in handy if a user wants to check these messages in the future.

Once the ‘Kept Messages’ feature is rolled out, WhatsApp will disable the ability to mark messages as starred for disappearing chats since it will become redundant. In addition, the developers will remove the ‘Starred Messages’ section. To find the ‘Kept Messages’ feature, users simply need to open a group chat and tap on the group name. Under this section, they will find a ‘Kept Messages’ section that will display all saved messages, unless they are deleted by someone.

At the moment, the Kept Messages section is only available to select beta testers who are on the latest version of WhatsApp Business (v2.23.4.10). However, the messaging platform is rolling out the feature to new users, so it may take some time before the section is visible on all devices.

In addition to the Kept Messages feature, WhatsApp has recently hinted that it is working on a transcription feature that can convert lengthy audio messages into text. The messaging platform has also added several new features, such as support for emoji reactions for status, private audience, and more, to enhance the user experience.
