According to reports, Linda Yaccarino, the head of advertising at NBCUniversal, is in discussions to become the new CEO of Twitter. While Elon Musk recently announced that he has found a new chief executive for the social media platform, he has not disclosed the name of the successor.
Linda Yaccarino’s expertise lies in advertising sales, having served as the head of NBCUniversal’s advertising division. During her tenure, she played a significant role in the launch of the company’s ad-supported Peacock streaming service. Yaccarino has been a prominent figure in the industry, advocating for better ways to measure the efficacy of advertising. She has been associated with NBCU for over a decade.
Linda Yaccarino’s professional experience includes serving for 19 years at Turner Entertainment, where she was credited with bringing the network’s ad sales operation into the digital age. She is an alumna of Penn State University, where she studied liberal arts and telecommunications.
If Yaccarino were to leave her current role as head of advertising at NBCUniversal to become the new CEO of Twitter, it would be another significant loss for the company following the recent departure of NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell after acknowledging an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company.
