Techno Electric & Engineering Company Limited (TEECL), a prominent player in the digital infrastructure sector, proudly announces that it has been awarded a significant contract by RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Public Sector Undertaking wholly owned by Indian Railways. Under this contract, TEECL will design, build, finance, operate, and transfer Edge Data Centers (EDCs) across 102 cities in India over a 20-year concession period, extendable by an additional five years.

The deployment of Edge Data Centers is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the digital experience for both rural and urban populations across India. These centers are crucial in addressing the low latency and high bandwidth demands necessary for various modern applications, including digital skills development, financial inclusion, digital health & literacy, AI, AR, IoT, content delivery, and cloud gaming.
By reducing latency and improving network performance, these Edge Data Centers will significantly benefit Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs).
