Tech Mahindra has announced the expansion of its partnership with Telefónica Germany to build a next-generation private cloud platform designed to accelerate cloud-native transformation and provide Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) capabilities for future technology and enterprise growth. The multi-year engagement will focus on creating a scalable, open, and future-ready digital infrastructure foundation to modernize telecom and enterprise workloads.
Building a Scalable Private Cloud Infrastructure
Under the partnership, Tech Mahindra will combine its platform engineering expertise and AI-first operations capabilities with Telefónica Germany’s infrastructure modernization initiatives to develop a PaaS environment that will serve as the foundation for a large-scale private cloud. The platform will incorporate compute, storage, backup, containers, graphics processing units (GPUs), and ransomware protection services, enabling a more flexible and scalable infrastructure environment.
Enabling Innovation and Infrastructure Sovereignty
The new platform is expected to support cloud-native innovation, AI-led operations, and long-term infrastructure transformation across Telefónica Germany’s operations. It will also help the telecom operator advance its infrastructure sovereignty goals, accelerate telco cloud development, reduce dependence on proprietary virtualization environments, and strengthen business-to-business (B2B) monetization opportunities through a unified strategic partnership model.
AI-Driven Automation at the Core
As part of the engagement, Tech Mahindra will leverage AI-driven automation, cloud-native orchestration, infrastructure-as-code frameworks, and self-service platform management capabilities to support the delivery and operation of the platform. The solution has been designed to improve operational flexibility, resilience, and automation while supporting both traditional and next-generation infrastructure services for telecom and enterprise customers across Germany.
Strengthening Tech Mahindra’s European Presence
The expanded collaboration further strengthens Tech Mahindra’s position as a strategic transformation and platform engineering partner for telecom operators in Europe. It also creates new opportunities for the company across managed services, cloud transformation, platform engineering, and telecom infrastructure modernization as organizations continue to invest in cloud-native technologies and digital transformation initiatives.
