STL (NSE: STLTECH), a prominent provider of optical and digital solutions, has announced that its fiber optic cable products manufactured in the US are fully compliant with the ‘Build America, Buy America’ (BABA) provisions outlined in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
In conjunction with this declaration, STL has introduced its new Rapid series of products, further enhancing its “In America, For America” portfolio of fiber optic cables. The Rapid series encompasses a diverse range of optical fiber cables, including high-capacity ribbonized cables and ruggedized designs tailored for various applications such as duct, direct buried, aerial, and last-mile connectivity.
This significant development underscores STL’s steadfast commitment to bridging the digital divide in rural America while bolstering the local supply chain. With a substantial investment of $56 million in world-class manufacturing facilities, STL is actively collaborating with leading service providers across the country to address the demand for broadband infrastructure projects, both federally funded and privately initiated, including those under the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program. Since its inauguration in September 2023 by Hon. Henry McMaster, Governor of South Carolina, STL’s 168,000 sq. ft. North American headquarters, known as the “Palmetto Plant,” has generated 125 full-time jobs.
