Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM) Secures Second Patent for Revolutionary Agri Reach Application

Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM), India’s premier post-harvest logistics company, proudly announces the acquisition of its second patent for the Agri Reach application from the Intellectual Property India, Government of India. This patent, granted on May 20, 2024, recognizes the innovative “Method for REAL-TIME Monitoring of Quality Control Data in a Warehouse Management System,” marking a significant milestone in the agriculture industry.

Revolutionizing Agriculture with Real-Time Quality Monitoring

The latest patent focuses on the real-time monitoring of commodity quality at all stages of warehouse management operations. This ensures the health of commodities throughout the process. The first patent for the Agri Reach Application, granted in 2022, covered “Method for REAL-TIME Data Management,” which defined centralized processes for monitoring and managing crops from any location. Together, these patents make SLCM Group the first company in the agricultural industry to offer a proprietary solution for holistically managing both quality and quantity of crops in real-time on a single platform.

Innovative Impact on Agriculture

These groundbreaking inventions by SLCM Group are poised to significantly enhance India’s agricultural ecosystem. They offer unparalleled accuracy in monitoring the quality of food grains, tracking the entire journey of commodities, and providing real-time alerts on any damage, wastage, or deterioration. This enables warehouse operators to take swift action, ensuring optimal quality control and reducing post-harvest losses.

SLCM’s Extensive Network and Asset Management

SLCM Group manages assets worth INR 10,928.82 Crore (as of March 31, 2024) and operates a vast network of 16,877 warehouses and 36 cold storages across India and Myanmar. This extensive infrastructure underpins the company’s ability to implement and benefit from its patented technologies.

Commenting on this achievement, Sandeep Sabharwal, CEO of SLCM Group, expressed, “We applied for the patent six years ago with a strong trust in our innovation and a mission to revolutionize the agriculture industry of India. It is a proud moment that the Government of India has acknowledged our patent application. This milestone solidifies our leadership position, being the first and only company in our industry to achieve two patents that will transform the Agriculture domain. We are committed to making sustained efforts towards laying a robust Phygital infrastructure with culmination of cutting-edge technology and expansive physical network of establishments.”

He further added, “Both the patented inventions in a single platform of Agri Reach contains everything you need to effectively track commodity journey and syncing all data from numerous warehouse sites at the centralized location ensuring no gaps in the warehouse management process which may lead to deterioration of commodities. Warehouse operators are empowered to optimize quality control procedures and equip stakeholders with improved decision making capabilities by having continuous access to lifecycle of crops stored in the warehouse. Thereby, fostering sustainable development by curbing huge food grain losses during post-harvest stages”.

Benefits of the New Patented Method

The newly patented method represents a major advancement in sustainable technology for the agriculture sector. It offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Unmatched Accuracy: Ensuring precise inbound and outbound transactions of commodities.
  • Streamlined Data Management: Enabling systematic and transparent quality control processes at all stages of warehouse management.
  • Optimized Quality Control: Empowering warehouse operators to enhance decision-making with continuous access to crop lifecycle data.
  • Agri Reach Application: A State-of-the-Art Solution

Agri Reach, backed by extensive R&D and a forward-thinking approach, is the only NABL accredited application developed to monitor and oversee the journey of agricultural commodities in storage. The AI-powered application is infrastructure, location, and crop agnostic, enhancing efficiency and transparency. It provides services in collateral management such as audit receipts, quality control, and surveillance, helping agricultural experts maintain the health and optimum quality of stored crops.

SLCM Group remains at the forefront of innovation, committed to introducing technologies that integrate physical infrastructure with digitized enterprises. This latest patent reinforces their dedication to strengthening the ‘Phygital’ agriculture supply chain, ensuring sustainable development and significantly reducing food grain losses during post-harvest stages.
