RuPay Credit Cards Now Accepted for UPI Payments on Google Pay

In a partnership between Google Pay and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), users can now link their RuPay credit cards to Google Pay and utilize them for both online and offline transactions, including purchases at merchants accepting RuPay credit cards, through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform.

Additional Banks Expected to Join Soon, Visa and Mastercard Credit Cards Currently Not Supported on Google Pay for UPI Payments

Activation Process for RuPay Credit Card on Google Pay:

1. Open Google Pay and navigate to your profile settings.
2. Select the option “RuPay Credit Card on UPI” from the available options.
3. Choose the bank that issued your RuPay credit card from the list provided.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to set a unique UPI PIN.
   • Option 1: Enter the last six digits of your card number and expiry date.
   • Option 2: Enter the OTP (One-Time Password) provided by your bank.
5. Complete the activation process by verifying the required details.

Once the activation is complete, you can start using your RuPay credit card for UPI payments on Google Pay.

Making Payments with RuPay Credit Cards on UPI Platform:

1. Ensure that your RuPay credit card is activated on Google Pay following the activation process.
2. At the merchant’s payment interface, select the UPI payment option.
3. Enter the UPI ID or scan the QR code provided by the merchant.
4. Input the amount to be paid and proceed to the payment confirmation screen.
5. Enter the UPI PIN that you set during the activation process.
6. Once the PIN is verified, the payment will be processed, and a confirmation message will be displayed.

By entering the UPI PIN associated with your RuPay credit card, you can securely authorize and complete the payment transaction using Google Pay.
