Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio) continues to leverage its robust 5G network, solidifying its dominance in Rajasthan’s telecom market. According to the latest TRAI report, Jio’s wireless subscriber base reached 2.69 crores as of April 30, 2024. This represents a significant addition of 1.86 lakh new mobile subscribers in April alone. In comparison, Bharti Airtel added 31,921 new subscribers, while Vodafone Idea and BSNL experienced declines, losing 7,856 and 54,996 subscribers, respectively.
Strong Performance in Wireline Segment
In the wireline segment, Jio also showcased impressive growth by adding 20,298 subscribers. Bharti Airtel followed with an addition of 4,715 subscribers. Conversely, Vodafone Idea and BSNL saw declines in their wireline customer base, losing 120 and 3,349 subscribers, respectively. This further underscores Jio’s expanding influence in both wireless and wireline markets.
Revenue Growth in Q4
Jio’s financial performance in Rajasthan has been equally impressive. The company’s revenue for the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year increased by Rs. 32 crores, bringing the total to Rs. 1,490 crores. Airtel also saw revenue growth of Rs. 26 crores, reaching Rs. 1,474 crores. Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea’s revenue decreased by Rs. 7 crores, with quarterly revenues at Rs. 501 crores. This revenue trend highlights Jio’s ability to capitalize on its network investments and subscriber growth.
Comparative Subscriber Base
The overall wireless subscriber base in Rajasthan now stands at 6.64 crores. Jio leads with 2.69 crores subscribers, followed by Bharti Airtel with 2.33 crores. Vodafone Idea and BSNL have subscriber bases of 1.06 crores and 55.07 lakhs, respectively. Jio’s significant lead in the market is indicative of its successful strategy and the strong consumer preference for its services.
