Reliance Industries and Google Announce Strategic Partnership to Accelerate AI Adoption Across India

In a landmark move to drive large-scale AI transformation across the nation, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), through its subsidiary Reliance Intelligence Limited, has entered into a strategic partnership with Google. The collaboration aims to democratize Artificial Intelligence (AI) access for consumers, enterprises, and developers, aligning with Reliance’s vision of “AI for All.” By combining Reliance’s massive ecosystem reach and digital infrastructure with Google’s advanced AI capabilities, the partnership is set to empower millions and strengthen India’s position as a global AI powerhouse.

Google AI Pro for Jio Users: Empowering India’s Youth with Free AI Access

As part of this collaboration, Google, in partnership with Reliance Intelligence, will begin rolling out the Google AI Pro plan featuring the latest Google Gemini capabilities to eligible Jio users — completely free for 18 months. This exclusive offer, valued at ₹35,100, provides access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro model via the Gemini app, higher usage limits for AI image and video generation using Nano Banana and Veo 3.1 models, expanded access to Notebook LM for learning and research, and 2 TB of cloud storage.

The rollout will begin with early access for 18- to 25-year-old Jio users on unlimited 5G plans before expanding to all Jio customers nationwide. Through this initiative, Reliance reinforces its commitment to empowering India’s youth and bridging the AI accessibility gap. Both companies are also exploring new localized AI-powered experiences tailored to India’s cultural and linguistic diversity, enhancing everyday interactions for millions of users.

Accelerating AI Innovation Through Google’s AI Hardware Accelerators

Furthering its mission to build multi-gigawatt, clean energy-powered, sovereign compute infrastructure, Reliance has also partnered with Google Cloud to expand access to Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) — Google’s cutting-edge AI hardware accelerators. This collaboration will enable Indian enterprises, startups, and research institutions to train and deploy larger, more sophisticated AI models and deliver faster inference for high-performance projects.

The initiative aligns with India’s national AI goals and supports the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of making India a global AI leader, by ensuring world-class computing power is available domestically to fuel innovation across sectors.

Delivering Gemini Enterprise for Indian Businesses

The partnership also designates Reliance Intelligence as a strategic go-to-market partner for Google Cloud, focused on driving the adoption of Gemini Enterprise among Indian businesses. Gemini Enterprise is a next-generation unified AI platform designed to empower organizations to create, deploy, and manage AI agents for diverse workflows within a secure, scalable environment.

In addition to facilitating enterprise adoption, Reliance Intelligence will develop and offer its own pre-built AI agents within Gemini Enterprise, expanding the range of available AI tools and use cases for Indian businesses. This collaboration is expected to accelerate digital transformation across industries such as finance, retail, education, and manufacturing, helping enterprises harness the full potential of AI responsibly and effectively.

Pioneering India’s AI-Driven Future

The Reliance–Google partnership marks a defining step toward democratizing AI in India, from empowering young users and consumers to enabling enterprises with next-generation AI infrastructure and solutions. Together, the companies are building the foundation for an inclusive, innovation-led AI ecosystem that will play a pivotal role in shaping India’s digital future.

Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Industries Limited, said, “Reliance Intelligence aims to make intelligence services accessible to 1.45 billion Indians. Through our collaboration with strategic and long-term partners like Google, we aim to make India not just AI-enabled but AIempowered – where every citizen and enterprise can harness intelligent tools to create, innovate and grow.”

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, said, “Reliance is a longstanding partner in Google’s goal of advancing India’s digital future – together we’ve brought affordable internet access and smartphones to millions. Now, we are bringing this collaboration into the AI era. Today’s announcement will put Google’s cutting-edge AI tools in the hands of consumers, businesses, and India’s vibrant developer community. I’m excited for how this partnership will help expand access to AI across India.”
