Raptee.HV Launches Electric Mobility Centre of Excellence at Rajalakshmi Engineering College

Raptee.HV has launched a Centre of Excellence for electric mobility at Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC), marking the beginning of a long-term industry-academia partnership focused on hands-on learning and deeper industry exposure in electric mobility.

The initiative aims to connect students and faculty with practical EV engineering experiences while providing exposure to real-world challenges in the electric mobility sector.

3,000 Sq. Ft. EV Centre Launched on World EV Day

The new 3,000 sq. ft. facility was inaugurated on World EV Day by Mr. Abhay Meganathan S, Vice Chairman of Rajalakshmi Engineering College.

The facility is one of the first initiatives under Raptee.HV Academy, the company’s broader programme aimed at bringing hands-on EV engineering and industry exposure into educational institutions.

Raptee.HV and REC Sign MoU for Long-Term Collaboration

The launch also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Raptee.HV and Rajalakshmi Engineering College.

The agreement formalises a long-term collaboration between the two organisations in the field of electric mobility. The partnership will create opportunities for industrial training, site visits, guest lectures, internships, industry-oriented courses and joint research.

By connecting REC’s academic talent with Raptee.HV’s expertise in engineering electric motorcycles, students and faculty will have opportunities to engage with real-world EV engineering challenges.

₹50 Lakh Investment in New HV Lab

The HV Lab has been developed with an investment of ₹50 lakh. The facility is designed to go beyond conventional classroom learning by providing dedicated infrastructure for practical experimentation and prototyping.

The laboratory houses a Raptee.HV T30, core EV components and a naked motorcycle equipped with digital twin technology. It also includes interactive learning modules and dedicated spaces for hands-on experimentation and prototyping.

EV Lab Offers Practical Learning for Engineering Students

The Centre of Excellence is designed for students pursuing Electrical, Electronics and Automotive Engineering.

Students can gain practical exposure to core EV systems, including battery packs, electric motors, power electronics, charging infrastructure, vehicle communication and real-time diagnostics.

The facility is intended to bridge the gap between theory and practical learning. Students can experiment, develop prototypes and work on electric mobility solutions while gaining exposure to engineering challenges associated with EVs.

Centre to Support Faculty Development and Research

The new laboratory will also support faculty development, industry-linked projects and collaborative research.

The facility is expected to provide opportunities for intellectual property creation while enabling students and academics to work on real-world engineering challenges facing the EV industry.

Through these initiatives, the partnership aims to strengthen the connection between academic learning and industry requirements in electric mobility.

Rajalakshmi Engineering College Has 15 Centres of Excellence

The new electric mobility Centre of Excellence adds to Rajalakshmi Engineering College’s existing ecosystem of advanced research and industry-oriented innovation.

Rajalakshmi has invested in advanced research infrastructure and has 15 Centres of Excellence equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and licensed software.

These Centres of Excellence cover areas including Artificial Intelligence, Medical Imaging, Machine Vision, MEMS and Microfluidics, Renewable Energy, Biofilms, Data Science, Digital Manufacturing, Internet of Things (IoT), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), TANCAM Design Centre and TANSAM Spoke Centre.

Building the Next Generation of EV Engineers

The collaboration between Raptee.HV and Rajalakshmi Engineering College brings industry exposure and hands-on EV engineering into an academic environment.

With practical access to EV components, diagnostics, prototyping and electric motorcycle technology, the new Centre of Excellence is designed to help students build practical skills while contributing to research and innovation in electric mobility.
