Optiemus Unmanned Systems Private Limited (OUS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Optiemus Infracom Limited, has announced a strategic partnership with Taiwan-based KunWay Technology to manufacture and localize KunWay’s portfolio of drones in India. The collaboration aligns with the Indian government’s vision to position 2025 as the year of transformative reforms in the defence sector, underscoring India’s ambition to become a global drone manufacturing hub.
Strengthening the “Make in India” Vision
This partnership will see KunWay’s cutting-edge drone technologies manufactured in OUS’s state-of-the-art facilities in Noida, leveraging the company’s local expertise and infrastructure. By integrating KunWay’s advanced drone and AI technologies with Optiemus’s manufacturing capabilities, the collaboration aims to deliver solutions tailored to the Indian market’s specific requirements in defence and homeland security.
Ashok Gupta, Chairman of Optiemus Infracom, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “We are happy to partner with KunWay to take further their localization journey of drone manufacturing in India, it’s a great testimony for India’s growing technology prowess. We are witnessing fast paced adoption of technology and it is increasing at a rapid pace, especially in the domains of defence and homeland security. In line with keeping abreast with these changing times, we are looking to expand our portfolio of products in the Indian market. Our partnership with KunWay is in line with this goal and we aim to launch their products in the Indian market and localize as per the need of defence and homeland security and bring India on a global stage of drone manufacturing.”

KunWay, headquartered at the Chiayi AI Drone Center in Taiwan, is known for its innovative drone products and AI systems.
