Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL), a leading player in India’s electronics manufacturing sector, has announced a strategic partnership with TP-Link, a global leader in networking and smart home solutions. This collaboration aligns with the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative and aims to position India as a global hub for telecom and electronics manufacturing.
Strengthening Local Manufacturing
Under this partnership, OEL will produce a diverse range of telecom and IoT products for TP-Link, including GPON (ONT) devices, security and surveillance cameras, home Wi-Fi routers, enterprise routers, modems, gateways, SOHO switches, and network expansion devices. The manufacturing will take place at OEL’s state-of-the-art facility, which has an annual production capacity of up to 6 million devices.
This collaboration also sets the foundation for developing electronic products geared for export markets, further strengthening India’s presence in the global electronics manufacturing landscape.
Building a Local Ecosystem
OEL has committed to developing a robust local supply chain to support the partnership. This includes sourcing components such as power adapters and mechanical parts domestically, reducing import dependencies and ensuring better supply chain control. This initiative not only supports the local ecosystem but also aligns with India’s ambition to become a self-reliant manufacturing hub.
Boosting Employment and Economic Growth
The collaboration between OEL and TP-Link is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in the electronics and manufacturing sectors. By contributing to India’s IT and telecom manufacturing capabilities, the partnership underscores the country’s potential to become a leader in global electronics production.
Launch Timeline and Market Availability
Production of Made-in-India TP-Link products will commence in February 2025, with finished products expected to reach the domestic market by March 2025. These locally manufactured devices will cater to India’s growing demand for high-quality networking and smart home solutions while reinforcing TP-Link’s commitment to the Indian market.
