Nokia Partners with Microscan to Deploy High-Capacity Optical Network in Maharashtra

Nokia has announced that Microscan Infocommtech (Microscan) will deploy its advanced optical networking solution across Microscan’s networks in Mumbai and Pune, Maharashtra. The move comes as enterprises, OTT providers, financial institutions, and hyperscalers in the region drive unprecedented demand for high-speed, reliable bandwidth. The project also lays the groundwork for future expansion into Gujarat, further strengthening digital infrastructure in Western India.

Nokia Optical Network to Power Enterprise Growth

The deployment will leverage Nokia’s photonic service engine (PSE) technology, enabling Microscan to significantly expand network capacity and provide enterprises with a superior connectivity experience. The solution is designed to support the rising data traffic generated by businesses across finance, IT, and digital content industries, ensuring Microscan remains future-ready.

Advanced 400G+ Wave Services for Next-Gen Connectivity

As part of the deployment, Nokia will provide its 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS), featuring CDC-F 2.0 architecture, which enables operators to flexibly and reliably deliver 400G+ high-speed wave services. This technology not only enhances network scalability and resilience but also prepares Microscan to seamlessly expand into Gujarat in the near future.

Strengthening Western India’s Digital Infrastructure

With the Nokia–Microscan collaboration, Western India will benefit from a robust, future-proof optical network tailored to meet the growing connectivity needs of digital-first businesses. The initiative reinforces Nokia’s role as a global leader in optical networking and Microscan’s commitment to delivering enterprise-grade connectivity solutions across India.

“Starting with Maharashtra region, we plan to build a nationwide NLD network to gain a crucial edge in addressing the ever-increasing bandwidth demands of our customers. The new DWDM backbone will help us improve uptime against fiber cuts, making our network more resilient and reliable. In addition, it will allow us to deliver higher SLAs and develop new use cases. Partnering with a global technology leader like Nokia will help us leverage their proven expertise to improve network performance while reducing both capex and opex,” said Sandeep Donde, Founder and Managing Director at Microscan Infocommtech.

“Our field-proven optical network products will enable Microscan to scale capacity and prepare the networks for future requirements. Our optical core transport solution provides flexibility, agility and resiliency to the network. Delivered over a cloud-optimized platform, Nokia’s solution will provide Microscan with the opportunity to efficiently unlock new use cases for its hyperscalers and large enterprise customers,” said Vito Di Maria, Vice President of Optical Networks at Nokia Asia Pacific.
