Netplus Broadband, an Indian Internet Service Provider (ISP), has teamed up with Nokia to expand its broadband services in Northern India. Under this partnership, Nokia will provide its Multi-Access Gateway Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) application hosted on the FP5-based 7750 SR, and the 7250 IXR, which offers high-density aggregation to support Netplus’ broadband services. Netplus has a presence in over 400 cities and towns across several states in Northern India, with a significant operation in Punjab.
Nokia’s 7750 SR, which is powered by the industry-leading FP5 silicon, provides highly scalable subscriber management, granular bandwidth management, per-subscriber policy control, deterministic performance, and a 75 percent reduction in power consumption compared to FP4 silicon. Netplus will leverage this technology to deliver world-class broadband services.
Furthermore, Netplus will deploy Nokia’s 7750 SR Extended Services Appliance (ESA) to enhance support for Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT), which will enable the ISP to meet the growing demand for connected endpoints.
