Meta just appointed Vikas Purohit as the Director of Global Business Group in India

It was announced that Vikas Purohit will be leading Meta’s Global Business Group in India in the role of Director. Purohit will be in charge of developing and maintaining partnerships with the largest brands & advertising agencies across the country. 

In his new position, Purohit will coordinate with media & creative agencies to increase the number of major advertisers & agencies using the firm’s digital products. Purohit will oversee the agency teams, business solutions teams, & key business vertical teams at Meta. 

Meta claims that Purohit, before leading retail at Reliance Brand, worked in senior business, sales, and marketing roles at firms like Amazon, Tata Cliq, Reliance Brands, Aditya Birla Group, & Tommy Hilfiger for a combined 20 years. While he was employed by Amazon, he helped steer and develop Amazon Fashion. 

His most recent position was as a chief operating officer (COO) at Tata Cliq, where he served for over two years before being promoted to CEO and eventually joining Meta. 

After Ajit Mohan left Meta in November 2017 to become the president of Snap’s Asia Pacific business, Sandhya Devanathan was promoted to the role of head & vice president of Meta’s India business. As of January 1, 2023, Devanathan has been in this post, reporting to Dan Neary, Meta’s vice president for the Asia Pacific region.
