Meta Introduces Streamlined Data Management Across its Apps

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has rolled out new features to Streamlined Data Management for users across its apps. By centralizing settings and controls in the Accounts Center, Meta aims to make it easier for users to manage their data within its ecosystem.

All-in-One Data Downloads

The update brings ‘Download Your Information’ and ‘Access Your Information’ into the Accounts Center. This means users can now retrieve data from both their Facebook and Instagram accounts in a single step. For example, you can effortlessly download photos from both platforms with just one click. Of course, users still have the option to download data from Facebook and Instagram separately if they prefer.

Extended Control for Instagram

Meta has expanded the reach of controls that were previously available exclusively on Facebook to include Instagram. ‘Activity Off-Meta Technologies’ and ‘Transfer Your Information’ are now accessible for Instagram users.

‘Activity Off-Meta Technologies’ empowers users to manage how data sent by other businesses to Meta interfaces with their Facebook and Instagram accounts. You have the ability to review, disconnect, or clear this data according to your preferences.

Enhanced Data Portability

With the extension of ‘Transfer Your Information’ to Instagram, users can now transfer their Instagram photos and videos to other services. This move simplifies sharing and preserving cherished memories for Instagram users.

User-Friendly Approach

Meta recognizes that users desire streamlined decision-making across multiple apps. By consolidating these settings in the Accounts Center, users can conveniently set their preferences for all Meta apps simultaneously. For those who prefer individual settings for each app, this option remains available.

Accessing the Accounts Center

Users can access the Accounts Center through the Settings menu on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. This unified hub for Streamlined Data Management is designed to offer users more control and simplicity in navigating the Meta ecosystem.
