MediaTek, a prominent global fabless semiconductor company driving innovation in over two billion connected edge devices annually, unveiled a series of groundbreaking Generative AI demonstrations at Mobile World Congress 2024. These demonstrations, powered by the latest generation of APU hardware featured in the Dimensity 9300 flagship smartphone SoC, showcase MediaTek’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of on-device AI technology, with several industry-first applications running entirely on-device.
JC Hsu, Corporate Senior Vice President at MediaTek said, “As an enabler of AI, we want these industry-first experiences to inspire developers, OEMs and partners through MediaTek-powered AI technology, such as the APUs integrated into the Dimensity 9300 and 8300. We are seeing the tip of the iceberg on the Generative AI use cases that can be created, and we’re looking forward to working closely with others to turn visions into reality.”
At Mobile World Congress, attendees were immersed in hands-on demonstrations of key on-device AI technologies, each representing an industry-first:
- SDXL Turbo: Showcasing a text-to-image Stable Diffusion engine, dynamically generating images in real-time based on user-provided prompts.
- Video Diffusion Generation: Enabling fast video diffusion generation with capabilities across a range of animation styles.
- Low Rank Adaptation (LoRA) Fusion: Demonstrating MediaTek’s incorporation of Low Rank Adaptation (LORA) Fusion into the NeuroPilot AI platform, showcased through a real-time use case where animated avatars are created from a camera feed.
These groundbreaking demonstrations were hosted at the MediaTek Booth in Hall 3, #3D10, throughout Mobile World Congress from February 26 to 29.
