M3-Powered iMacs Being Developed, Potential Introduction of 32-Inch Model by 2025

New iMacs Under Development with M3 Chipsets and 32-Inch Model in the Works, According to Mark Gurman

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg recently provided further insights into Apple’s plans for iMacs, following his previous product roadmap revelation. Currently, only the 24-inch iMac, powered by the M1 processor, is available, while older models have been discontinued. However, Gurman disclosed that Apple is working on enhanced versions of the iMac.

The upcoming iMacs will include an improved 24-inch model featuring the M3 chipset, offering a substantial upgrade over the M1 variant. Additionally, Apple is reportedly developing a more powerful iMac with a larger 32-inch screen. This model is expected to resemble Apple’s Pro Display XDR, sporting an IPS LCD panel with a 6K resolution and 10-bit colors. Both iMacs utilizing the M3 chipsets are said to utilize TSMC’s 3nm process, delivering enhanced performance and power efficiency compared to the current 5nm process.

Initially planned for a second-half release this year, the launch of the 24-inch iMac has been pushed to early next year. As for the 32-inch iMac, Gurman suggests it may arrive as late as 2024 or even 2025, noting that the design process for the larger model is still in its early stages.
