Jio has showcased a new range of personal AI wearables at India Mobile Congress 2026, including camera glasses, audio glasses and earphones. Among the features demonstrated are UPI payments through QR scanning and voice commands, an AI voice assistant, support for multiple Indian languages, live translation, AI note-taking and live cricket commentary.
Jio AI Glasses Let Users Pay by Looking at a QR Code
The standout feature of Jio AI Glasses is Scan & Pay, which is designed to let users make UPI payments without taking their smartphone out of their pocket. The camera glasses can scan a UPI QR code while the user gives a voice command to initiate the payment.
Once the payment is confirmed, the transaction goes through. Through UPI Circle, users can make payments of up to ₹5,000 per transaction, while the monthly limit is ₹15,000. Jio has clarified that these limits are set under UPI Circle rules and not by the company.
Voice Commands Could Reduce the Need to Use a Phone
Jio’s Scan & Pay feature is designed to reduce the number of steps normally involved in making a QR-based payment. Instead of taking out a phone, unlocking it, opening a payment app and scanning the QR code, users can interact with the system through the glasses and voice commands.
The company is positioning this as an example of AI moving beyond traditional screens and keyboards. The focus is on using voice-based interactions to bring AI closer to everyday activities.
Live Translation Supports Different Indian Languages
Jio AI Glasses also feature live translation aimed at helping people who speak different Indian languages communicate with each other.
Users can speak in their preferred language while another person speaks in a different Indian language, with AI handling the translation through the wearable devices. Jio says the focus on Indian languages is intended to make AI and digital services more accessible to users in their preferred language.
AI Note-Taking for Meetings
The wearable devices also offer AI note-taking, which is designed to capture important points during meetings. The feature is aimed at making it easier for users to keep track of key information without constantly checking their phones or manually taking notes.
Live Cricket Commentary Keeps Fans Updated
Jio AI Glasses also bring live cricket commentary to the wearable experience. The feature is designed for users who want to keep up with a match while they are on the move.
From office meetings to cricket matches, Jio’s wearable features are aimed at reducing the need to repeatedly look at a smartphone during everyday activities.
Jio Focuses on Productivity and Everyday AI Use
According to Jio, its AI wearables are designed to improve productivity, expand access to knowledge and make everyday tasks easier with AI. Voice interaction and support for Indian languages are central to the experience showcased at India Mobile Congress 2026.
Jio AI Glasses Show a New Direction for Wearables
Jio’s showcase at India Mobile Congress 2026 offers a glimpse at how wearable technology could become more closely connected with everyday activities. While smart glasses are not new, features such as UPI payments, Indian-language support, live translation, AI note-taking and live cricket commentary bring the technology closer to practical use cases for Indian users.
