Ashwini Vaishnaw, the country’s minister of information technology, has announced that the company will begin producing AirPods in the country.
In the near future, Apple will begin producing the iPhone 14 in the country. Minister of Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw has now stated that Apple would begin producing AirPods in the country. In case you missed it, Apple already makes a number of iPhone basics in India.
The country’s IT minister has confirmed that AirPods are being made in the country. According to the source, local production of the iPhone 14 will start in December 2022, just a few months after the phone’s initial release. Foxconn’s factory close to Chennai is rumored to be where Apple makes the iPhone 14.
Other recent reports have indicated that Apple is planning to manufacture Beats headphones in India alongside the AirPods. There have been rumblings that Apple’s Chinese component supplier, Luxshare Precision Industry, intends to assist with AirPods production in India. Be aware that Luxshare gives top priority to its AirPods activities in Vietnam. Note that the AirPods model which will be produced first in the country is not mentioned.
If the rumors are true, Apple will begin producing the iPhone 14 considerably sooner than it did last year. There have been rumors that by 2025, Apple plans to have moved 25% of its iPhone manufacturing to India. Apple already produces multiple iPhone models in India. These include the iPhone 13, iPhone 12, & iPhone SE. iPhones are assembled in India by a trio of Apple’s manufacturing partners: Wistron, Foxconn, & Pegatron.
