Iochpe-Maxion SA (“Maxion”) (B3:MYPK3), the global leader in automotive wheels and a key producer of automotive structural components in the Americas, has announced a leadership transition set to take effect on April 16, 2025. Pieter Klinkers, the current CEO of Maxion Wheels, will step into the role of President and CEO of Iochpe-Maxion SA, succeeding Marcos Oliveira, who will step down at the end of his term in alignment with the company’s senior leadership succession plan.
Pieter Klinkers: A Proven Leader for Maxion’s Future
With a career spanning over 30 years in the automotive industry, Klinkers has been instrumental in driving innovation and growth within Maxion Wheels. His journey began with Michelin, where he worked for a decade before joining Hayes Lemmerz Inc. in 2005. Following its acquisition by Iochpe-Maxion, Klinkers played a key role in shaping the company’s global wheels business and has led Maxion Wheels as CEO since 2015.
Mark Gerardts to Lead Maxion Wheels
As part of the transition, Mark Gerardts will take over as CEO of Maxion Wheels, succeeding Klinkers. Gerardts, currently serving as Business Unit President for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), has been with the company since 2015, holding multiple leadership roles with increasing responsibilities. His expertise in strategic management and operational excellence positions him well to lead Maxion Wheels into its next phase of growth and innovation.
Marcos Oliveira Nominated for Board of Directors
After successfully leading Iochpe-Maxion SA, Oliveira has been nominated by the Board of Directors to join the slate for the Board election, which will take place during the next ordinary general shareholders’ meeting on April 16, 2025. This move ensures that Oliveira’s deep industry experience and leadership insights will continue to benefit the company at a strategic level.
