London-based consumer technology brand, Nothing, has revealed plans to manufacture their highly anticipated smartphone, the Nothing ‘Phone (2)’, in India. This strategic decision aims to address the specific requirements and growing demands of the Indian market. It follows the successful production of the Phone (1) in a facility located in Tamil Nadu, India.
Recent announcements from the company have provided further details about the upcoming Nothing ‘Phone (2)’. Notably, it has been confirmed that the Phone (2) will incorporate three times more recycled or bio-based components compared to its predecessor, the Phone (1). Additionally, despite featuring a larger 6.7-inch screen, the Phone (2) has obtained SGS certification for its carbon footprint, measuring at 53.45 kg, which is more than 5 kg lower than the carbon footprint of the Phone (1).
Moreover, Nothing has officially disclosed that the Phone (2) will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, ensuring powerful performance. The phone is also set to feature a 4700mAh battery, slightly larger than the 4500mAh battery found in the Phone (1), promising extended battery life.
To enhance its customer support in the region, Nothing has expressed its commitment to expanding its services in India. Currently, the company has established over 230 authorized service centers spread across more than 250 cities in the country. Additionally, Nothing aims to provide comprehensive support to its customers through dedicated channels specifically designed for its Indian user base, known as the Nothing India channels. These initiatives aim to ensure that customers have convenient access to assistance and support for their Nothing devices throughout India.
