According to reliable OnePlus leaker Max Jambor, the highly anticipated OnePlus foldable phone is expected to be called OnePlus Open, deviating from the trend of using “fold” in the name like other foldable devices. OnePlus has officially confirmed that the launch of its first foldable phone is scheduled for the second half of 2023. Recent rumors have suggested that the device will be unveiled on August 29th, and this information is supported by Max Jambor.
Leaked renders of the OnePlus Open indicate that it will feature a triple rear camera setup, including a periscope camera with Hasselblad tuning. The flash is located outside the camera cut-out in the top left corner. The renders also reveal a side-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button. Interestingly, the punch-hole camera on the outer display is positioned at the top center, while on the outer screen, it is located on the left side, as shown in the images.
The launch event for the OnePlus Open is reportedly planned to take place in New York, according to the leaked information. Additionally, OnePlus is expected to release the device in India to compete with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold5, which is scheduled to launch in Korea later this month, in July.
