HCLTech, a prominent global technology company, has earned its place in the esteemed S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2024 for the second consecutive year. This recognition underscores HCLTech’s unwavering dedication to conducting business sustainably and aiding its clients in advancing their sustainability initiatives through innovative technology solutions.
S&P Global meticulously evaluated 9,400 companies across 62 industries worldwide, culminating in a selection of 759 companies, including HCLTech, featured in the 2024 Sustainability Yearbook.
Santhosh Jayaram, Global Head of Sustainability at HCLTech, remarked, “This acknowledgment further validates our steadfast commitment to integrating sustainability into the heart of our operations. Guided by our ESG strategy centered on action, partnership, and impact, we strive to make a meaningful difference in communities and the environment.”
In line with its sustainability goals, HCLTech has pledged to curtail greenhouse gas emissions and adhere to the 1.5ºC pathway by 2030, with an ultimate aim of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. Additionally, the company aims to transition 80% of its electricity consumption to renewable sources by 2030.
In the fiscal year 2023, HCLTech replenished water resources at a rate 26 times greater than its consumption across its Indian operations. Notably, it became the first India-based company to join the Water Resilience Coalition and endorse the CEO Water Mandate.
Extending its impact globally, HCLTech is actively involved in philanthropic efforts through grants, partnerships, and employee volunteering initiatives. The HCLTech Grant Americas initiative, for instance, has committed $5 million over five years to NGOs dedicated to combating climate change and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity.
Furthermore, HCLFoundation initiatives have positively impacted 5.5 million lives in India, with over half being women, and assisted 12,000 individuals with disabilities.
