GoDaddy Survey Finds Indian Consumers Eager to Support Small Businesses This Holiday Season

Indian consumers are demonstrating strong support for small businesses this holiday season, with many willing to spend more to help local shops thrive. According to GoDaddy’s latest survey, 86% of Indian shoppers say they would pay extra to support small businesses during Black Friday and other seasonal sales. This willingness to pay more surpasses the global average of 72%, with 23% of Indians willing to spend up to 15% more to shop small.

Inflation Won’t Stop Holiday Shopping Plans

While inflation often impacts holiday spending, Indian consumers remain optimistic. The survey reports that 35% of respondents say inflation won’t affect their shopping plans, while another 30% plan to spend about the same as last year, even if inflation influences how they shop. This resilience underscores a strong commitment to maintaining holiday traditions despite economic challenges.

Black Friday a Key Opportunity for Small Businesses

With 62% of Indian consumers planning to complete most of their holiday shopping before December, Black Friday presents a crucial sales period for small businesses. An additional 24% make holiday purchases in December, while 13% wait until the last 24 hours to shop. Given the stakes, GoDaddy encourages small businesses to double down on their marketing efforts for Black Friday. “Our products, such as Digital Marketing and the Website Builder, help launch social media campaigns and email marketing with ease,” said Apurva Palnitkar, Senior Director Marketing, GoDaddy India.
