Gnani AI Launches Great Indian AI Internship Challenge With Up to 100 Paid Internships

Gnani AI, a frontier AI company building foundational models, enterprise agentic AI and sovereign AI infrastructure, has announced the Great Indian AI Internship Challenge. The initiative invites students to build practical applications using Gnani AI’s models and APIs for enterprises, developers and creators.

The programme offers opportunities to be considered for up to 100 paid internships, with individual stipends of up to ₹1 lakh per month.

Challenge Runs Until November 10, 2026

The Great Indian AI Internship Challenge opens on September 30 and will remain open until November 10, 2026. After the challenge concludes, shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.

Selected internships are scheduled to begin on January 1, 2027.

Students Invited to Build AI Applications

The challenge focuses on connecting India’s sovereign AI ambitions with the next generation of AI builders. Students will be encouraged to use technology built in India to develop applications addressing practical problems.

The initiative covers use cases involving enterprises, developers and creators. These can include working with documents in multiple Indian languages, developing tools that make AI easier to use, and creating regional-language content for wider audiences.

Students Can Work With Gnani AI Models and APIs

Participants will use Gnani AI’s models and APIs, which span language and speech capabilities. The scope of the challenge extends beyond voice to tools and workflows involving language, information and enterprise tasks.

The initiative encourages students to move from experimentation to application by identifying a user need, building a working solution and demonstrating how the solution could be useful.

Opportunity to Gain Experience With Gnani AI Technology

The Great Indian AI Internship Challenge aims to identify emerging student talent and support their development through opportunities to work at a frontier AI company.

Selected interns will have the opportunity to gain experience with Gnani AI’s technology and contribute to applications aimed at addressing the needs of enterprises, developers and creators.

High-Performing Interns May Be Considered for Full-Time Roles

High-performing interns may subsequently be considered for full-time opportunities. However, such opportunities will be subject to further assessment, role availability and business requirements.

Participation in the challenge does not guarantee an interview or internship, while an internship does not guarantee subsequent employment.

Leadership Comment

“Sovereign AI needs both foundational models and people who can turn them into useful applications. India’s campuses have students with the ideas and ambition to do that. Through this challenge, we want to identify promising builders at the grassroots and nurture their capabilities through opportunities to work alongside our teams. The ambition is to build on India’s own AI foundations and create technology that can serve users around the world” said Ananth Nagaraj, Co-founder and CTO, Gnani AI.
