X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, has been undergoing significant transformations under the ownership of Elon Musk. Recent developments suggest that Musk intends to introduce various paid services under the X Premium banner, offering users a range of choices when it comes to ads.
Researcher Aaron (@aaronp613) has unearthed information indicating that X Premium will comprise three distinct tiers: Premium Basic (with full ads), Premium Standard (with half ads), and Premium Plus (with no ads).
Presently, X Premium subscribers experience a reduced volume of ads in their timelines compared to non-paying users. Those who have already subscribed to X Premium enjoy exclusive features such as the ability to customize the app icon, edit posts, employ text formatting, create longer posts and videos, and access X Pro (formerly known as TweetDeck).
Additionally, the latest iOS update for the X app introduces features that allow users to manage encrypted devices for direct messages and permit creators with subscriptions to access their subscribers’ emails for other platforms.
In a move to enhance user experience, X plans to introduce a feature that enables users to limit replies exclusively to verified accounts. Timestamp tagging has also made its way to X’s iOS app, hinting at its imminent availability.
In India, X subscriptions are priced at Rs. 650 per month for web access and Rs. 900 per month for iOS/Android access. An annual web subscription is available at Rs. 6,800. However, specific pricing details for the new subscription tiers and the transition process for existing subscribers remain uncertain. X Premium users can anticipate a more tailored experience as the platform evolves.
