EduBridge, the prominent workforce development platform in India that facilitates career development with leading corporations, has announced a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and EXL. This collaboration is dedicated to offering cloud skills training to unemployed and underemployed individuals from diverse backgrounds in India and the Philippines through the AWS re/Start program.
The 12-week workforce development program, conducted in cohorts, equips learners with foundational knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level roles in cloud technology, IT operations, site reliability, and infrastructure support. AWS re/Start is entirely free for the learners and establishes connections between program graduates and potential employers.
EXL, through its “Skills to Win” initiative, has introduced the AWS re/Start program in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra. EXL’s volunteers conduct training sessions on various technology topics to equip AWS re/Start learners with in-demand skills.
This partnership announcement is particularly timely as the demand for skilled professionals in various industries in India is growing rapidly. Recent research commissioned by AWS and conducted by Gallup revealed that nearly all tech (99%) and non-tech (96%) workers in India express “extremely” or “very interested” in participating in digital skills training. However, 62% of tech and 50% of non-tech workers in India cite “lack of time” as the primary barrier to upskilling.
Satyajit Gupta, Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, and Head of India Legal, Global Head of CSR at EXL, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “This initiative will equip individuals with in-demand cloud skills, provide access to jobs in the fast-growing tech sector, and create opportunities for our employees to share their knowledge and skills with underserved communities in both India and the Philippines. Through the AWS re/Start program we also provide training in soft skills like critical thinking and collaboration. Building a diverse pipeline of entry-level cloud talent is important for supporting the digital transformation happening at a rapid pace in both countries,”
The AWS re/Start program covers fundamental AWS cloud skills, as well as practical career guidance, including resume writing and interview preparation. Learners will undergo training in multiple technologies, including Linux, Python, networking, security, and relational databases, through real-world scenario-based exercises, labs, and coursework. The program also covers the costs associated with taking the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification exam, a widely recognized credential that validates their cloud skills and knowledge.
