Dell Technologies and Red Hat Collaborate to Bring AI-Optimized RHEL AI to Dell PowerEdge Servers

Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) and Red Hat, Inc. have announced a strategic collaboration to bring Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI (RHEL AI) to Dell PowerEdge servers, positioning RHEL AI as a preferred platform on the Dell PowerEdge R760xa server. This joint effort aims to streamline the development, testing, and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (gen AI) models for enterprises.

Enhanced AI Capabilities on Dell PowerEdge Servers

RHEL AI, an AI-optimized platform, provides organizations with the tools needed to implement AI/ML strategies at scale. Dell and Red Hat’s collaboration ensures that PowerEdge servers deliver consistent AI experiences on optimized hardware, incorporating NVIDIA accelerated computing for AI workloads. This solution brings together Red Hat’s open-source Granite large language models (LLMs) and InstructLab’s model alignment tools to support AI model development.

RHEL AI will be packaged as an optimized bootable image for individual server deployments across hybrid cloud environments. It will also be integrated with Red Hat OpenShift AI, allowing enterprises to manage and run AI models at scale on distributed clusters.

Global Availability and Test Drive

RHEL AI on Dell PowerEdge will be available in Q3 2024. Enterprises can explore the solution at Dell Customer Solution Centers located globally.
