In a bid to revitalize local ecosystems and support community well-being, Dana India has successfully completed two Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Charal and Gokulpura villages, located in the Sanand region of Gujarat. These projects, focused on critical water resources, underscore Dana’s commitment to environmental stewardship and improving the quality of life for local residents.
Project 1: Pond Rejuvenation in Charal Village
The first project involved the cleaning and rejuvenation of a pond in Charal Village, which is home to 3,500 villagers. This initiative aimed to enhance water quality and restore the ecosystem, providing a sustainable water source for the community. Funded by Graziano Trasmissioni India Pvt Ltd, an affiliated company of Dana Incorporated, the project was completed in December 2023
Project 2: Water Storage Enhancement in Gokulpura Village
The second project focused on increasing the water storage capacity in Gokulpura Village, benefiting a larger population of 5,500 residents. Also sponsored by Graziano Trasmissioni India Pvt Ltd, the project reached completion in March 2024. By enhancing water storage capacity, the initiative ensures a steady supply of water throughout the year, promoting better health, hygiene, and agricultural productivity in the village.
“Water is a precious resource and access to clean water and sustainable resources is fundamental to the health of a community. We, at Dana, are committed to supporting community development.”, said Gajanan Gandhe, Country Head and VP, Dana India. “Our focus on water resource management in Charal and Gokulpura is part of Dana’s broader mission to support environmental sustainability and make a tangible difference.”
